A letter from Lou Longo on what dating lost along the way — and what we're trying to bring back.
I built Covenant Circle because I think dating has lost something along the way, and I don't believe it has to stay lost.
You don't have to look far to see it. A good evening, then silence. Someone kept around while the other person keeps looking. Somebody left to figure out for themselves what went wrong. None of it is dramatic. It's just careless — and we've all got a little too used to it.
Somewhere we decided the first ten minutes should tell you everything. No spark by dessert? Move on, there are plenty more. So people get sorted instead of known, and everyone learns to hold a bit back.
Here's what I actually believe.
Everyone you meet will have faults. So will you. That's not a reason to leave — that's just being human, and honestly it's the interesting part.
And there are still plenty of good people out there. I've met them. They're just tired of being sorted.
So we built this one differently. We match on what you're actually looking for and the values you say you won't compromise on, not on whether you photograph well. We tell you plainly why each person is in front of you. And this is a no-fault space: if it doesn't work out, nobody failed. You step away kindly, in either direction, and you both get to try again.
I'd ask one thing of you while you're here. Treat people the way you'd want someone treating your son or your daughter. Your brother, your sister. Because it cuts both ways — I've watched good men left waiting for an answer that never came, and good women wondering what they did wrong.
So: answer the message. Say the honest thing. Give someone a second evening before you decide.
Do that and this place works. The rest is just software.
Come and join the Circle.
Browsing, matching and messaging are free — and they stay free.
